The details make the result
Besides knowledge of the legal merits of a case, it is to my opinion very important as a lawyer to reconstruct all the facts thoroughly. Only when you truly investigate the occasion and find out all the details of the matter, you will be able to adapt the overview you need to assess the best strategy for your client. To be able to do that you have to be an eager person, which I am! I am interested in people, their culture and their story. I like to understand what’s behind certain impressive occasions, recent one’s and those from the past. That’s why I like to read biographies and non-fiction stories and love to stroll in (historical) museums, where I try to imagine how people lived and what their frame of reference was. Reconstruct all the facts, to envision how their background was and to understand what really mattered to them. That’s the main reason why I am so dedicated to the legal profession. It’s a matter of gathering all the crucial facts and fit them in a legal frame, obviously to create the most positive result for your client.

The lawyer in practice
In May of 2002 Pascale completed her studies in Dutch law at the University of Leiden in the Netherlands. She finished her studies in Dutch law in the section of Criminal law. During her studies she worked as a volunteer for a legal advice bureau and founded a legal advice bureau especially for children. Besides that she worked as a judicial clerk of the District Court in Amsterdam. After her studies she was employed in the Court of Appeals in Amsterdam for six years, at first as a judicial clerk, later on as well as a staff lawyer. As of October 2008 Pascale joined the lawyer’s team of SMS Advocaten, attorneys at law. Aside from criminal law, Pascale is also active in the general practice of civil law.
